South Los Angeles has a tremendous opportunity to benefit from stronger partnerships between our local schools, community colleges, and the city—especially when it comes to streamlining school-to-career pipelines. Right now, too many young people are held back by bureaucratic barriers that make it harder to access job training or land well-paying, stable jobs that lead to upward mobility. 

I’ll leverage my relationships with education leaders to break down those barriers by:

• Expanding school-to-career pipelines in partnership with LAUSD, LACCD, LACOE and employers.

• Connecting youth and adults to training, apprenticeships, and union jobs.

• Helping start new small businesses and expanding access to financial support for existing businesses who are struggling during this unpredictable economy.

Everyone deserves a pathway to prosperity – no matter their background.
